Mr. Wrinkles

When I saw this wrinkled dog I just had to get a shot of it. He was so cute and relaxed in the middle of an outside dinner.

I am at your service!

Driving down Forest Blvd. today I had to take a double take as I saw this house with two robots looking out at me. How funny it was to me to see these guys ( I guess they are guys) overlooking the road from there perch on the balcony of this home in a nice neighborhood.

Old Time Clothes Dryer

I was driving down the road today when I had to pull over and take this picture. I can’t remember the last time I saw clothes drying outside on a clothes line. Here in the USA most people I know have clothes dryer in their home to dry their clothes. What about your town, how do you dry your clothes?

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Well it’s Sunday again and I try to always post a picture of a church on the first day of the week.Around my part of the world you can see Crosses and purple draped around them. I am not really positive what it means since it is not a tradition my church practices but I believe it has something to do with good Friday or something like that. Maybe someone can inform me as to the meaning.

Colorful Kites

I went to the the Isle of Palms (near Charleston SC) yesterday with my family. We had a great time and while we were at the beach. While we were heading to the beach we saw in the distant these kites dashing in and out of view and my daughters were so delighted to actually see them up close and personal. The guy who was flying them would bring them down low and let the tails almost touch you. We had a great time

Down the tracks

I was fooling around in photoshop trying out some different filters and just by chance fixed this photo. I really like the grainyness on this photo.

Step on in!

Next to the 83 year old ladies house stood an old Baptist church called “The burning Bush” I was drawn to this door with its peeling paint and and color. I loved the textures. I was kind of surprised by the condition of the building and land scape but still thought it looked pretty interesting.
The marker was in front of the buliding.

Cotton Picker

Sunday I mentioned I was out in a part of town called Earlwood. I was unfamiliar with this part of town and as I was out walking the neighborhood I saw this lady peeking out her front door at me so I said hi and struck up a conversation. Turns out she is 83 years old and her husband is 89 and they have lived in Columbia their whole lives and have only left the state once. She told me when she was only five years old they (not sure who “they” were) gave her a bag and off to the cotton fields she went to pick cotton. She told me she would make $10.00 a week for her labor. She let let me let me know many times how grateful she was a for all of her experiences. I never did get her name because when her husband saw me he became very suspicious and called her in so off she went.
