Patriotic Wall Mural

Across fro the church I posted yesterday is a little park with a nice patriotic Mural painted on a wall. It is a very nice little park. While I was taking the picture little snow flakes started falling down.

The Miracle Center

I try to post a picture of a church each Sunday. Today’s Church is in Princeton, West Virginia because I was speaking at a family retreat near there this weekend. I found it to be an interesting place to have a church but after all a church is not the building but the people in the building so I guess it really does not matter what the building looks like. One day this week I will post a photo of a wall which was across the street from this church.

The Kids Made me do it!!

I have been the Children’s pastor at my church for about 9-10 years and over that time I have done a lot of strange thing like I did last night. Since last night was Valentines Day our Awana program’s theme night was “Red Night” our goal was to see how creative you could get with getting red. My idea was to just paint my whole head red but my wife came up with the idea of making heart shapes. I found out after I got to the church I also had a pair of lips painted on the back of my head as well. I think all the kids enjoyed my head as well as all the rest of the creative designs, but I sure had a lot of strange looks driving to the church.

Dumping Grounds

My whole city is littered with these orange construction barrels. They are used to keep people out of areas they are not supposed to be driving on while road work is being done. Each time I go across the dam at Lake Muray I see this pile of construction barrels. Do we have such bad drivers here that they hit the cones and then the road workers toss them on the heap?

Rustic Tin Can

Call me crazy but I like this old rusted out tin can. I wonder where it has been and what it was used for. I almost thought about bringing it home but my wife would problem not see it’s beauty quite like I do and since I see the beauty of a good night sleep in my bed I decided not to chance.

South Carolina Democratic Party

Can’t say I am really all that wrapped up politics and even less wrapped up into the Democratic Party, but driving down the road the other day I spotted this welcome sign in front of their office. Some reason or other it grabbed my attention.

Columbia Marionette Theatre

I was out taking some pictures today and on my way home I came across The Columbia Marionette Theatre . I have heard of it many times before but have never seen it. What a fun looling building. I wanted to go into it but no one was there to let me in. I am sure I will bring my daughters for a puppet show soon.

Red Roofed House

I was in th e car with some friends the other day and my friend Jason all of a sudden blurted out with a snicker “I sure hope they got a great bargain on their new roof” We all said a few jokes about this house with it’s new bright “red Roof”. Today I drove back by this house house and had a different take on it. No I don’t think I will get a red roof any time soon but I kind of like it on this house. I guess you can call me fickle.

Beware – Sweet Gum Balls

It was such a pretty day, so my girls and I decided to go out and eat lunch on the deck. I prepared the meal and had my hands full of plates and cups as I stepped outside onto the deck not really paying much attention to where I was stepping. Until my foot landed on one of those sweet gum seed balls. Ouch they sure do hurt. My yard is full of them, I guess it is about time to go rake them up since it seems like they have all fallen off the trees.
